Connection: Human Integrations with Space, Nature and Ideas

This group includes work that reflects a constant re-evlauation and return over the years to an interest in people combined with other elements - place, nature, language, landscape, each other, the past. My work evolves but certain formal elements remain: an interruption of the body, layers of paint that obscure and reveal, and an arrangement that creates tension or mystery. By painting people, and looking closely at each individual, I experience the gift of seeing a small fraction of what makes a person physically unique while conversely sensing what makes us all the same.
